Introduction Course 3 explores cutting-edge innovations in the space heating sector, with a focus on green district heating systems as a critical component of sustainable urban infrastructure. Module 1 provides ways for the integration of renewable energy technologies, such as biomass, geothermal, and solar thermal, into district heating systems, as well as the role of advanced energy storage solutions and smart grid technologies. Module 2 share some practical insights into successful implementations of green district heating systems across various regions. Who is this course for? Although intended as an introduction for professionals, to help them identify the new skills required for innovation on climate technologies, this course is also suitable for students and early career professionals who want to know more about the EU Cities Mission and related technologies for climate neutrality. Entry requirements There are no formal entry requirements for this course. Learning Objectives After the completing Course 3, participants will be able to: • Examine the technological advancements on the heating sector • Evaluate sustainable heating solutions that contribute to energy efficiency and climate neutrality in urban settings Modules 1. Integration of RES into District Heating Systems 2. Green District Heating systems: Best Practices Accreditations Participants after the completion of the course will receive a Certificate of Attendance.
